Hudson is the executive director and co-founder of Impact Lynk, an innovative community service management platform that is transforming how schools provide and manage volunteer opportunities for teens. What began as a submission to his school’s annual “Impact App Challenge” has evolved into an implemented technology solution for Hudson’s school and others.
Throughout elementary and middle school, Hudson derived great joy from volunteering at assisted living homes, the Special Olympics, and through Cub Scouts. But when he entered high school, he found it challenging to identify teen-friendly community service opportunities and track his required service hours. Impact Lynk is Hudson’s answer to this technology gap.
The platform fosters tailored connections between high school students and service organizations, while providing tracking and reporting tools to community engagement staff at schools. In this way, Impact Lynk benefits schools, students, and local nonprofits in equal measure.
Impact Lynk has expanded to 14 student-led chapters across the United States and abroad. More than 600 teens are active on the platform, with 12,000+ hours of community service logged and 135 nonprofit volunteer opportunities posted.
