Project KEM Creative Studios
Art has always been Emilia’s escape from academic and social pressure. When she realized her hometown of LA’s homelessness crisis meant children on the street didn’t have the resources to occupy their time or minds, she co-founded KEM Creative, an organization that forges strategic partnerships with organizations like the Alexandria House shelter to bring free teen-taught art instruction to children in transitional housing and underserved communities. So far, more than 500 students have participated at five facilities across LA and Guatemala, and fifteen Art Ambassadors have been recruited and trained to manage over forty volunteers.
