Drew is the founder of T1D1, the first FDA-cleared, “over-the-counter” insulin calculator app, built to help children and families manage Type 1 Diabetes safely and confidently.
When Drew was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, he and his family were suddenly responsible for calculating precise insulin doses five to seven times a day, knowing that a single miscalculation could land him in the emergency room. Searching for a tool to help, he found nothing—so he built one himself.
T1D1 is completely free—making it accessible to families who cannot afford insulin pumps or lack consistent access to medical care. The app automatically calculates insulin doses based on a user’s prescribed ratios, tracks carbohydrates and blood glucose, and shares data with doctors to inform treatment plans. It works offline, across shared accounts. In 2025, T1D1 became the first app of its kind to receive FDA clearance and launched on the App Store and Google Play.
