Project Senior Connect
Caroline is the founder of Senior Connect, an organization dedicated to helping seniors incorporate technology into their daily lives. The idea took hold when Caroline’s grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, lamented losing his ability to drive. She showed him how to use a ride-share app on his phone, which improved his quality of life. Caroline realized that so many of the limitations brought on by age could be alleviated with simple technology.
She planned a small event at a senior living center, demonstrating basic tech functions to seniors she knew. Its success inspired her to start Senior Connect. By pairing teen volunteers with seniors at workshops held in care facilities, synagogues, and community centers, the program facilitates both technological literacy and intergenerational connections.
Teens show seniors how to use digital tools and apps that make daily tasks simpler, help restore independence, and allow them to meaningfully engage with their loved ones. With seniors often being the targets of fraud, the program also helps them avoid scams and navigate the Internet safely.
In 2025, when wildfires swept through Southern California, Senior Connect helped seniors safeguard their vital documents by teaching them how to store important information in the cloud. This ensured that even if physical belongings were lost, essential records like passports and insurance policies remained accessible.
